The Kerala Science Congress is a major Science meet organized by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) during the last week of January every year. The programme was started by Science Technology and environment Committee (STEC) in 1989 and carried forward by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment.
The objective of the programme is to revitalize Research and Development (R&D) in the State and to identify new talents in scientific research in Kerala. The event has grown significantly in quality and quantity and has gained a multidimensional perspective over the past 26 years with the involvement of an increasing number of science professionals and students in a multidisciplinary S&T domain.
The event normally scheduled for four days aims to ensure effective interaction among academics, researchers, professionals and decision makers from within and outside the state. The technical sessions cover various fields of Science and Technology with presentations by a large number of young researchers and theme lectures by eminent scientists and researchers providing a platform for the scientific community to meet each other and expand their knowledge base thereby contributing to the S&T development in the State.
