Dr. Tessy Thomas is designated as the Chairperson of 27th Kerala Science Congress
The 27th Kerala Science Congress is scheduled during 28th to 31st January 2015 at Alappuzha, Kerala.
The focal theme of 27th Kerala Science Congress is “Traditional Industries”.
Alappuzha, a coastal district of Kerala, historically known as the ‘Venice of East’ and famous for its abundant coir resource is a major trade centre for traditional industries. The focal theme chosen for the 27th KSC aptly blends with the traditional industrial base of Alappuzha.
Prof. V.N Rajasekharan Pillai,Principal Secretary, Dept. of Science and Technology, Government of Kerala and Executive Vice President, KSCSTE, is the President of 27th KSC.
Dr. Tessy Thomas,an accomplished Scientist of India’s Missile Programme and Project Director, DRDO, is the Chairperson of 27th KSC.
Dr. K.R. Lekha, Head, WSD-KSCSTE is General Convenor of 27th KSC.
Smt. B.G. Sreedevi, Director, NATPAC is the Chairperson, Organising Committee of 27th KSC.
27th KSC is organised jointly by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC), which is one of the R & D institutions of KSCSTE.
The four day schedule includes memorial lectures, focal theme deliberations, children’s science congress and showcasing of KSCSTE institutes. Above all, deliberation on several hundreds of research papers from various fields of science and technology sets a major platform for scientific interaction among scientists, researchers and students from all over the State. About 2000 scientists and young researchers are expected to participate in the event.
