SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PROMOTION DIVISION (STPD)

The primary objective of the Science & Technology Promotion Division (STPD) is to strengthen basic and applied science with a view to develop scientific attitude and temper and to create, enhance and sustain the socio- economic development as well as quality of life and environment of the State. The Division promotes multidisciplinary approaches to research, encourage cooperation between the social and natural sciences and coordinating research programmes in the Universities, Colleges, R & D laboratories with a view to optimize the scientific output and honouring outstanding contributions of scientists by providing awards and research grant.
