KERALA STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT

The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has sanctioned the DBT Skill Vigyan State Partnership Programme in Biotechnology and Life Sciences, which will be executed in Kerala through the Kerala Biotechnology Commission (KBC), Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). KBC, KSCSTE is collaborating with 15 state academic and research institutions to provide student training, technician training, and faculty training programmes. The three-month student and technician training programmes offer a monthly stipend and certification from the Sector Skill Councils under the Govt of India. The faculty training programmes offer 14-day hands-on training in cutting-edge areas of biotechnology.

FACULTY TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has sanctioned the DBT Skill Vigyan State Partnership Programme in Biotechnology and Life Sciences, which will be executed in Kerala through the Kerala Biotechnology Commission (KBC), Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). KBC, KSCSTE is collaborating with 15 state academic and research institutions to provide student training, technician training, and faculty training programmes.

The Faculty Training Programme is conducted by KSCSTE in collaboration with seven partnering institutions. The programme is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty members and scientists in the field of biotechnology. It provides hands-on training in advanced and emerging areas of biotechnology, equipping participants with the latest tools and techniques to apply in their research and teaching endeavours.

Student Training and Technician Training Programmes

The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has sanctioned the DBT Skill Vigyan State Partnership Programme in Biotechnology and Life Sciences, which will be executed in Kerala through the Kerala Biotechnology Commission (KBC), Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE). KBC, KSCSTE is collaborating with 15 state academic and research institutions to provide student training, technician training, and faculty training programmes.

The student and technician training programmes offer a three-month, hands-on, stipendiary training experience to individuals at the entry level, including plus two students, graduates, and postgraduates, specializing in various biotechnology fields. These programmes have been developed in collaboration with four prominent Sector Skill Councils under the Government of India’s purview: the Life Science Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC), Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI), and Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC). The curriculum for these programs is in alignment with the Qualification Packages (QPs) established by the Sector Skill Councils, which are tailored to meet industry requirements.
