National Mathematics Day Celebrations on “Mathematics, Art & Creativity” The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), in association with the Departments of Data Science and Department of Fintech & AI at Loyola College of Social Sciences, celebrated National Mathematics Day 2025. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sunil Thomas T., Director of ICFOSS , and presided over by Prof. A. Sabu, Member Secretary of KSCSTE. Dr. Sabu P. Thomas, SJ, Principal of Loyola College, welcomed the gathering , which included a diverse group of school and college students, faculty, and participants from various departments. Key felicitations were offered by Prof. Saji P Jacob and Prof. Gabriel Simon Thattil. During the event, Professor E. Krishnan (Retired Professor, University College, Thiruvananthapuram) presented a fascinating narrative on how the value of π (Pi) was defined and refined across different generations and geographical boundaries. Prof. Achuthsankar S. Nair demonstrated how mathematics breathes life into music and other daily experiences and emphasized that mathematics is not merely a set of calculations but a creative force integrated into every aspect of life, from rhythmic patterns in music to symmetry in nature. The programme successfully inspired students and faculty alike to view the discipline through a more artistic and creative lens
