Faculty Training Programme at KSCSTE-JNTBGRI under the DBT Skill Vigyan Programme Kerala – Notification 2026
The DBT Skill Vigyan Programme is facilitated in Kerala by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.
The Faculty Training Programmes under the initiative aim to provide hands-on, skill-oriented training to faculty members and scientists through exposure to modern tools, techniques, and methodologies in advanced and emerging areas of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. The training is intended to facilitate the application of these skills in their research and teaching programmes.
Current Training Programme
Course Name: Gas Chromatographic Techniques in Aromatic Plants Research
Partner Institute: KSCSTE–Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI), Palode, Thiruvananthapuram
No. of Seats: 15
Duration: 14 days (26 October 2026 – 10 November 2026)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be faculty members or scientists.
- Applicants should have an academic/research background in Biotechnology or a relevant allied discipline.
- Faculty and scientists from academic and research institutions are eligible to apply.
Payment Details
- No course fee is charged for the training programme.
- A registration fee of ₹750/- (inclusive of 18% GST) is applicable for submitting the application.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
Important Information
- Seats will be allotted to eligible candidates after screening, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria and availability of seats.
- Attendance for the entire duration of the course is mandatory.
- Guest room accommodation on the institute campus and canteen food are available at applicable charges, which shall be borne by the participant.
- Travel Allowance (TA), up to the applicable 3AC train fare, may be reimbursed by the participants for travel to and from Thiruvananthapuram, as per the applicable norms.
