Sastraposhini is a scheme for strengthening science education in schools of Kerala and under the scheme, science laboratories are established in high schools within the Kerala State. Presently, the scheme is implemented in high schools of the State utilizing the Development Fund of MLAs. A State level Apex Resource Group consisting of experts, nominees of the Council and state education department will evaluate the submitted application
Proposals in the prescribed format is generally invited in the month of June every year through advertisement in KSCSTE website and dailies.
- A total of Rs.8 lakhs is spent to establish Sastraposhini laboratories (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in one school with a fair share from KSCSTE.
- Training will be provided to selected teachers from Sastraposhini schools by eminent scholars/ academicians from different disciplines.
- Only government high schools in the State with sufficient facility (three rooms to establish Physics, Chemistry, Biology laboratories), qualified faculty in science are eligible.
- Applications shall be submitted along with the consent letter from MLA of the legislative assembly constituency in which the school is situated, stating the financial support extended for the programme.
